Eighty Years and Still Shining
Congratulations!!!  80 years young
            A milestone indeed
Leaders of the baby boomers, 8 decades amazing
            A powerful force to see
All with our own stories
All with our own dreams
All with our own “who, what, why’s”
All with our great wisdom ready to share
All with our own memories of family and friends not here
All with our own adventures
All with our own challenges
Oh, the places we’ve been.  And, Oh, the places we have yet to go.
Tonight……….we’re all here……….together……….connected
All born in that marvelous year of 1946
All with that same green devil spirit, reminiscing “St. Pete will shine tonight, when the sun goes down and the moon comes up, St. Pete will shine”
So blow out the candles, make a wish and…………..
                        Celebrate
                        Sing, even if off key
                        Dance, move to joyous music

                        Cherish glorious sunrises and sunsets
                        Delight in family and friends
                        Wonder and stay curious
                        Embrace and jump for joy
AND, be sure to eat lots of chocolates, birthday cake and ice cream
                        HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Green Devils

Circle of Reflections

Glorious sun shining, waves rolling in, sand white and welcoming

Inside a shuffle of chairs circling and connecting

Some retired, some not

All together composing a symphony with gems of wisdoms, reflecting on

         Roads taken, Roads not taken

                    Epiphanies awakening hidden dreams

                               Serendipities changing direction

                                          Risks following passions and adventure

What's important in our lives and what is not

Individual notes keeping voices in rhythm with humor the conductor

          Priest in judge's robes

                    New job opportunity at 65

                              Interior decorator hugging trees

                                        Librarian now jeweler

                                                  Loving Grandparents and caring friends

                                                            Low income housing advocates

Volunteers from all walks of life

Community activists from east to west, north to south

                             Corporate professional now painter

Lawyers, techies, doctors, business owners, others still finding

       fulfillment

All remembering that fateful November that changed us and our country forever

As leaders of the "baby boomers", normal wasn't normal anymore

A generation of pioneers setting new standards and expectations for five decades, now faced with the next phase of our lives and how to live life fully with grace and purpose

All grateful for our years together in a more innocent time, reminiscing on memories that will always be a part of who we are today

Where will we be in the cycle of living the next time we meet?
